Chihuahua , possible mix (has a lovely underbite) Will likely be under 15lbs full grown. Read below carefully when regarding puppies. History: Little Rose came to us from a hoarder/breeding home that had around 35 plus chihuahua/ and chi mix little dogs in a duplex. Several rescues have been involved with the situation. We agreed to help one and didn't even know which dog we would be getting. We would later find out a 12 week old little girl was on her way to us! We named her Little Rose. She was so scared on intake, just shaking. We've been showing her humans can spoil her. We adore her! To know her breed for sure, we have a discount code for wisdom panel DNA test if owner would like to do one. (Around $60-$80) Personality: Quiet, sweet, and playful. She is great at cuddling. She loves to play and bounce around. She will run up to you and stand on your leg and even give some kisses when she's excited. She LOVES other dogs. So if she had another small dog to play with that would be an ideal home! At night, Little Rose sleeps in a kennel next to the bed. It brings her comfort and she doesn't make a peep at all. She holds her potty all night and goes first thing when we bring her to her play pen with her potty pads. She will soon be protected enough vaccine wise to touch grass. Rose is a very well behaved little puppy! I wanted to add that as we have been so proud of her. She is a sweeeeeet girl! She even gives kisses. Little Rose is TINY and must be supervised when outside. Even as she grows, she will be small enough to be prey for a bird. She needs to be watched. Even in the home, she is small and could easily be hurt. You need to be prepared to always keep a watchful eye on this little girl. Puppies: Puppies have sharp teeth, they bite, scratch, bark, and potty. Adopter MUST be prepared for any puppy to do this. We do not take puppy adoption lightly.... you are their forever home. It is YOUR job to teach them potty training, to socialize them with other pets and people, and to integrate them properly into your household. This should be done in a kind and proper manner. You are the one that will mold them. Finances: You will need to be able to afford a puppies future vet care which includes more rounds of puppy vaccines, monthly heartworm prevention, flea/tick prevention, accidents that may arise, food, leash, toys, collars as they grow, etc. Dogs in general are costly when you are properly taking care of them. Requires: Secure fenced yard and to only be outside when monitored. Excellent vet history. Owner needs to be prepared for a puppy! She is also a tripping hazard for seniors or anyone with mobility issues. She would love another small dog to play and cuddle with. Owner needs to be prepared to have her for the duration of her life (which can be over 10 years) Prepared for SMALL dog with small bladder, yes that means being ready for potty training, accidents, etc. A home already familiar with chihuahuas/small breed dogs and puppies would be great. Vetting: Little Rose will have started her puppy vaccines and have had (2 sets) before being allowed to leave. The adopter will be required to have any remaining sets done per their vet. It is important puppies get their 4 sets of vaccines to protect them. Little Rose has been dewormed and had a negative fecal. She began a monthly heartworm/flea/tick prevention. Treated for ear mites. Had vet check up. She will be microchipped via Petlink and our rescue has already paid the lifetime fee. When it comes to her spay, we are looking at scheduling that in March at Robinsons Rescue. The rescue will cover that fee unless the adopter wishes to do the spay at their own vet clinic. That can be discussed. It will be required to be done by 6 months of age. Pictures and Videos: On our website, you should be able to click through all of our pictures we have up of each pet. Sometimes the video tab will be at the bottom of the bio. We like to have multiple pictures and a video to help you really get to see the pet. www.rockersrescue.org (Little Rose has over 10 pictures to view and 2 videos.) We do adopt to out of state adopters but it is a lengthier process. We require photos and the adopter to travel to us in order to adopt. About Applying to Adopt: This dog has a $100 adoption donation fee for approved app. This fee in no way covers all of the donations used to help this animal but it does help add back a little to help with the next life. If you wish to donate extra you can. We are a 501c3 non profit rescue that functions solely with volunteers and donations. Our adoption process can be found on our site at Adoption Process (rockersrescue.org) and the link to the app is below. . TO APPLY, go to https://www.rockersrescue.org/info/adoption/ Please include as much about yourself as possible. Be sure to do the DOG application. Any questions let us know, thanks!
