Thank you for considering adoption! Honey- around 4yrs old, female, appears Rat Terrier. May have Chihuahua or Jack Russel in her. She is around 7lb frame. Lap pet that would love a calmer home. Sweet and will bond greatly with her owner. Please Note: Honey just went under sedation for spay/teeth cleaning. We are going to go ahead and start home hunting for her forever family. We will have to wait a little bit for her to fully recover from surgery before she may go to her new home though. Probably around September 13th or so, she will be ready. History: Intake August 16,2020. Honey had a home for around 3-4 years. On August 16th: What was said is: There was a fight between the dogs at her home, and during this fight the owner said she bit him. He was furious and took her straight to a kill shelter. She was terrified. The shelter quickly networked her, as they were very full and she was so scared. We drove 3 total, to go and rescue this sweet baby and bring her back to her Rockers Rescue foster home. On the way home, she gently closed her eyes in relief. Personality: Honey has sense been relaxing and getting love. She loves to cuddle and snuggle near her humans. She likes to play with toys! She was a calm yet playful demeanor about her. She does still have nervous tendencies at times, she will require a home with soft, patient love. She can be a fear nipper so she needs that special person. In her foster home, she has already adjusted so well and is happy to be loved. She does not do well with a leash on her collar, but you can attach it to a harness and carry her. She will need a fenced yard for when she goes out to potty. She enjoys laying in the sun and trotting around to explore. She is potty trained. She actually has learned to use a doggy door but does need supervision when going out. When going places or to the vet with her, you will need to be able to carry her in your hands to remove the risk of her getting spooked and slipping her harness. Honey LOVES to sit on a lap or right around you. She wants to be where you are and is like a shadow that will follow you. She is cautious until she trusts you, which doesn't take too long. She is fine being allowed to free roam when you aren't home. She gets along with the other small dogs in her foster home, though can butt heads with another dominant one. She's a bit sassy. A home without young kids is necessary since she can get scared. Needs: Patient loving home. Calmer home best. Fenced Yard. Indoor only, outside under monitored eye. No young children. Understanding she can be a fear nipper. Spoiled, haha. Vetting: Honey has been vaccinated, heartworm test was negative, we did a 12 month proheart shot for heartworm prevention, she's on 3 month Bravecto for flea/tick prevention. Fecal was negative. She is microchipped with a lifetime registry. Teeth were cleaned when she was sedated. She is already spayed. About Applying to Adopt: ANY questions just ask!
