Rockers Rescue

Merci Pup Pup is ready to start home hunting! 

Our Rockers Rescue pets are currently in foster homes that help us save lives. When you choose to adopt from a rescue, you help open space for us to save another life in need. We are located around Shreveport, Louisiana. Thank you for considering adoption! 

Merci- Female. We are calling her a shepherd mix based on her looks. We DO have a DNA test done. We are awaiting results. Keep in mind we estimate Merci to be a medium to larger breed dog. The DNA test will also give us an average weight frame estimate.  Merci's estimated birthday is around June 25, 2021.  She also has some goodies being delivered from sweet people that supported her wishlist on cuddly. 

History:  Merci found herself at a shelter that euthanizes for space. She was just a puppy, not even 8 weeks old!  She was very scared in the shelter. She was in a kennel run all alone and the noises from the other dogs frightened her. Even people walking toward the kennel would make her run and hunker down. The shelter she was at was so full that animals were at risk for euthanasia.   Rockers Rescue happily left the shelter with the little nervous puppy! She became the new Rockers Rescue pup. When we got Merci to her foster home, she was so happy. Being in a home environment has TRULY helped her little spirit. 

Personality:  Merci is a very sweet girl. She loves to play and chew on toys, as any puppy does! She also loves cuddling in a lap or laying next to a human. Merci is working on potty training, but her future home will have to teach their routine and continue the process. Merci sleeps in a kennel at night and is kenneled when foster parents are not home. She will wimper when you kennel her to leave. Merci loves to run outside and play. A fenced yard is ideal for her, though she is never to be left outside. She is an indoor girl as all Rockers Rescue pets are. Merci is just such a happy puppy! It's important she continues to be socialized with new settings. Merci was scared at the shelter and when taken away from home you can tell she can be nervous, so the more outings the better for her. She would love an active family. She is learning the words "no" or "aannt"  and you can tell her thinking if she knows she may be in trouble, haha! 

Keep in mind- puppies are puppies! They are full of work, accidents/potty training, teeth and biting, chewing, etc. If you are not fully ready for a lifetime commitment to this animal, please search for another that better suits your lifestyle. Puppies are work. Merci wants a family that will keep her FOREVER. No being returned due to babies or moving, etc. She deserves a forever family.  This girl is so precious! Help her find her awesome forever home. 

Vetting: Merci received her first set of vaccines at the shelter. Second set at our vet. Fecal showed she had coccidia and hookworms so we treated for those. She went back for another fecal which was negative. Merci started her monthly heartworm/flea/tick prevention. She goes on the 10th of September for her next vaccine set. Merci will also have a microchip with a lifetime registry. It is mandatory that adopters continue monthly heartworm preventatives as well as bring her to her spay appointment at our vet. 

We can't wait for this sweet playful puppy to fine a family!
