Rockers Rescue

Our Rockers Rescue pets are currently in foster homes that help us save lives. When you choose to adopt from a rescue, you help open space for us to save another life in need. This adorable girl's name use to be Jojo. We started calling her Tamale kitten since we had some others named (Taco, Enchilada, and Queso) Her name can be whatever you wish, but lately she has been a cute little Tamale! 

• Female. Under a year old. She seems pretty small for her young kitty age. 
• Breed appears to be Tuxedo. She has a cute nub tail due to surgery. 

History:     Tamale was rescued by a group known as CCAP (Community Cat Assistance Project) when she was a tiny kitten. They catch, spay/neuter and release. Upon them rescuing Tamale, they found her to have an injury. Her tail had an infection that was not healing despite medication and efforts. Due to this, her tail had to be removed and now she is a cute little nubby tail girl! They noticed how sweet she could be and that she would be a great little kitty for someone, so they asked our rescue to take her under our care. We found a great foster home for Tamale, with a friend kitty named Taco. Tamale has been learning love and safety. We are hoping to find a family that is the perfect match for Tamale! 

Personality:   Tamale loves attention when she gets it. She likes having her head and chin scratched and will purr. She will allow being picked up but may not still still for long.  Tamale loves to play with toys. She likes to follow her kitty friend around the house and lounge. Sometimes her kitty friend mothers her and she just purrs.  She would love having her own kitty bed and place to hang out.  She currently enjoys sleeping on a pet bed next to the human bed. She will likely only stay in a specific area of your home for a while until she is brave enough to venture out. All around, shy at first but learning love and opening up. Plus absolutely adorable!  She has also been found to often fall asleep with her cute little tongue poking out!  Tamale has been enjoying laying on the bed and getting attention. She can be timid acting at times but also is brave enough to wear kitty clothes. 

Requirements:      A calmer home would be ideal.  As far as children go, Tamale should adapt. Older children are preferred. She's not going to be one to be carried constantly. Children will need to give her respect and understand when she is nervous in the beginning and help her adapt and learn that she's safe.  She's a quiet and quaint little girl. More of a watcher. She's obviously good with other kitties and we feel she will be good with dogs. She was non reactant at our adoption event. 

   *This kitty is to be an indoors kitty. <<< If you are after an indoors/outdoors or outdoors only kitty then this is not the right kitty for you. We can help find one to meet those needs though! Just ask. This particular one...not it. Indoors only. <3 

*We also do not approve of declawing. We request that you research that. We have seen many cases where cats become irritable or stop using the litter box etc. and people try to surrender them to us. 

     Vetting:                

• Has kitty yearly vaccines and rabies vaccine. Testing done which was all good.   Dewormed.   I am spayed!   I am on kitty Revolution to prevent against mites, fleas, ticks. It lasts 1 month from the date given.   I am   Microchipped   (via the rescue with PetLink, no fees)  My tail has been amputated. 

About Applying to Adopt:    This Kitty has a $40 adoption donation fee (microchip fee is included) This fee generally NEVER covers how much we actually spend on the animal. We are a 501c3 non profit so the fee goes back into our volunteer rescue to help us save more lives.
