Molly

I am a sweet gorgeous senior lady around 12 yrs old. Cocker spaniel. I weigh 30lbs.

History: We rescued sweet Molly from our local animal control that euthanizes for space.   She had been wandering a street for 5 days or more all alone before an animal control officer scooped her up. She had double cherry eye with drainage, she was sick, gum under her paw pad, hair matted around her collar, etc. Cocker spaniels happen to be a favorite for our rescues president (hence our logo) and we instantly fell in love. Molly got to leave the shelter and come under our care to receive all the vet care and love she could ever ask for.

Molly's Past: Molly did have a microchip. It wasn't registered but it linked back to a vet in East Texas. It didn't seem they had much information on her but I was able to research the owner and it showed that she had passed away in 2016 at the age of 77. I'm unsure how she came to be in such neglected care in Louisiana, but I'm thankful our paths crossed.

Personality:  First off, I adore this girl so much. Anyone that loves cocker spaniels will adore her. She is very chill. Sweet and enjoys relaxing. The most excited she ever gets she just kind of bounces and spins a little with a smile. She doesn't really play with toys. Molly gal is a shadow and follows me everywhere. She is hard at hearing so I try to hand signal a good bit and let her know when I'm leaving a room if she's sleeping. I don't want her to wake up and wonder where I am. She will relax on the couch or spread out on the floor. At night she has the option to get in bed but usually she likes to sleep on dog beds on the floor. If she does get in bed she prefers the foot of the bed.  Sometimes if she's happy to see you she will climb on you and lick at your face. I'm talking like she will lick the air in your direction if she can't reach, its funny.

Molly is not to be kenneled, kennels stress her out. She is a good girl being left to roam. Eyes a little cloudy but no sight issues. Hard at hearing but does still hear. Molly does know to go outside (fenced yard) to use the bathroom but she does have accidents inside. Mainly pee accidents. I think it's just because she's older. Whomever adopts her will have to be understanding and prepared for that.

Molly is great with other dogs but not afraid to put them in their place if she is annoyed or if they are near her food. She is great with my daughter but my daughter also understands dogs and doesn't dote on her. I don't think Molly would do well with young children, she may would snap if she was accidentally hurt (as most dogs would.) We are unsure how Molly will do with cats.

Ideal home/Requirements: Molly's ideal home is with someone that is home more often than not. She is so precious and deserving. She is of course to be an indoors dog only. She needs a home understanding of seniors and okay with any pee accidents. A home that will spoil and love her. A home prepared for potential future medical expenses as again , she is a senior gal. Plus prepared for grooming and heartworm prevention expenses. No young children that don't understand boundaries. Fenced yard best.  Whomever adopts her must agree to stay in contact with us, we adore this precious girl so so much. She's got a piece of my heart and forever will.

Vetting: I've had ALL vetting. Up to date on vaccines, rabies vaccine, fecal. Spayed and microchipped. Bloodwork ran. (Her teeth were decently clean and did not need a dental from my memory) Lump removed on neck. Double cherry eye removal. May need a little bit of eye drop solution every now and then if you notice her blinking a lot. Tested heartworm negative and is on proheart (6 month) heartworm prevention. On Bravecto (3 month) flea/tick prevention.
