Kitten Onyx:

  • Kittens will not be ready for adoption until 8 weeks old Oct 9th!!!
  • Female, shorter length fur

Mom looks like a cream siamese, may be a mix. Dad unknown but possibly a calico as many of the kittens have that notorious coloring with cute splotches of orange mixed in. All the kittens are litterbox trained. They are sweet and playful! (Mom and siblings in a picture collage)

Born August 14, 2017. Momma Jewel had 3 girls and 2 boys. Jewel was found to be living on a construction site and was starving. Good people notified CCAP which is our local kitty extraordinaires. They got mom and brought her to Robinsons Rescue to be spayed. There...she gave birth instead!! The first kitty ever to give birth there. Momma Jewel was so skinny that nobody could tell she was pregnant. Our foster home decided to take in the family and they were safe. She did a stray hold period but nobody was ever looking for her. Momma Jewel has been fattening up and the kittens are GORGEOUS!

Our kittens are to be indoors pets only.If you are after an indoor/outdoor kitty we may know others that would fit that lifestyle but these are to only be indoors.

Vetting and Expectations:   Kitten will be microchipped (that fee is included in the adoption donation fee. It is a one time fee so no yearly expenses. We will register kitten on our end then you will check your email and check the registration. From there you will get reminders to update your information. Easy peasy)  Mom was tested for FIV and FeLV and was negative. Kittens have been healthy since born. They have been dewormed at 4wks, 6 wks, and will be again at 8wks. At 8 wks they will get their first shot set. FVRCP.

Most vets recommend starting vaccines at 8 weeks of age (which we will do FVRCP,) followed by boosters at 12wks and 16wks. Non-core vaccinations such as Feline Leukemia (FelV) are also very important and will likely be part of your boosters. You will have to follow up with your vet for the following shot sets. Kittens may get a rabies shot as early as 12 weeks of age but it depends on the state laws and veterinarian. If your vet doesn't give the rabies shot they may receive it at their spay/neuter appointment for an extra $10.

About Spay/Neuter: We will pre-schedule the kittens spay/neuter appointment through Robinsons Rescue in Shreveport. This fee will be the owners responsibility. It is the cheapest place around to have an animal altered. Males $38 and females $48. (Bring your shot records, if they have not yet had the rabies vaccine it is an extra $10) If you cannot make the scheduled date you may reschedule to your convenience BUT this appointment is mandatory. It is in our contract that the animal MUST be altered.

About Applying to Adopt:   Kitten has a $40 adoption donation fee (microchip fee is included) This fee generally NEVER covers how much we have actually spend on the animal. We are a 501c3 non profit so the fee goes back into our volunteer rescue to help us save more lives. We function solely on donations. Reminder this is a pre-application as the kittens cannot be officially adopted until Oct.9th. Reminder that owner will be responsible for further shot sets and for the spay/neuter appointment. We also do not approve of declawing. We request that you research that. We have seen many cases where cats become irritable or stop using the litter box etc. and people try to surrender them to us. (We do not schedule meets unless we have an approved application as our pets are in foster homes, you may check to see if we have an upcoming event for you to meet them at though)

To pre-apply: (please note a non refundable deposit of $20 (Part of the $40 fee) will need donated as a deposit for your adoption. We will cover that with approved apps.) Step1: email rockersrescue@gmail.com and tell us that you will be filling out an application. Step 2: fill out an app at www.adoptapet.com/rockersrescue/catadoptionapp/     Please be truthful when filling out your app and include as much information as possible.
