Teddy
History: Teddy was at our local shelter which is a kill shelter. He was seized due to a fence issue with his owners. The owners never fixed the problem and came back for him. He looks a lot like our personal rottweiler when he was younger, therefore, we named him after ours. Teddy Bear. We have to call him Teddy #2 now that he is under the rescue so we don't confuse him with our own when speaking, haha! People helped raise some funds for Teddy so he could leave the shelter! A lot of people rooted him on. We all thought Teddy was heartworm positive and that was why he was rescue only BUT the day we went to break him free....it turned out Teddy was heartworm negative! Personality: Goofy typical rottie pup. Likes to play fetch! Will actually bring the ball back to you! (That's rare for me to find.) Rope toys? He will rip them apart but has fun doing it! I'm sure he would love a good chew bone, a comfy bed inside, and a yard to romp around in! Did good with all dogs we've had him around. May not like dogs all up in his face but we require meet n greets anyhow. Young so he has energy and will need to be taught. We do like our dogs to be part of the family, if you plan to chunk him in your back yard just to gaze eyes on him here and there....he is not the dog for you. This dog has amazing potential if placed in the right home. The breed is very sweet and devoted. Teddy deserves to have a life of love. Vetting: Neutered. Up to date on shots. Heartworm test which was negative. Put on trifexis for heartworm/ flea/ tick prevention (lasts 1 month from date given). Fecal done as he was so skinny but it was negative. Plenty of good food should fatten him up in no time. Microchipped under the rescue (see below). About Microchip: Our animals are microchipped under the rescue. By having the animals microchipped under us it provides us with a definite option of the animal being safe if found. If the pet ever goes missing you can let us know as well so we may help find them. If we ever are called on the animal being found we will try our best for 2 weeks to get in contact with the owners (as you should also be trying to get in contact with us) and if the owner is not found after 2 weeks the animal is legally ours again via our contract. This is a GREAT safety precaution for loving families. It means you will have an awesome caring team devoted to reuniting you with your baby. We ourselves have found microchipped dogs that have been rehomed and ended up in shelters on a euthanasia list. We take this very seriously as we never want that to happen to any of our animals. We also require first option of taking an animal back if the home does not work out. You can consider us a forever family for the pets adopted from us. Adoption: Must have a vet reference when filling out one of our applications. Monthly h eartworm prevention is very important to us and your pet so adopters need to be financially prepared to cover that expense. If you do not know about heartworms we would love to tell you about them. We all have to learn! Any inquiries on adoption please feel free to message us. All information stated above is the the best of our knowledge for for as long as we have known this pet. Adoption fee of $100. (this includes microchipping expense) First email us to let us know you are filling out an application as sometimes the site glitches and it will not send, rockersrescue@gmail.com then go to the following site to fill out the application. Include as much information as you can...we like to get to know our possible adopters! www.adoptapet.com/ rockersrescue/adoptionapp/.
