Dalmation mix? German shorthaired pointer mix?

Spot was an owner surrender and resided at Caddo shelter for a long time. Very skinny, heartworm postive, filled with worms. A lot of people pulled together to raise donations for him to entice rescues. His euthanasia date came up so a foster came to get him. The rescue was still pending. I decided since he had a foster and enough donations to cover his needs that I would put him under our rescue so he could stay local.
Spot now needs a new foster or potential adopter by October 21st or he will have to go into boarding as we are a foster only rescue.
So far it seems that Spot gets really excited around other dogs. He does fine with his neighbor dogs though so I plan to test him again soon under a controlled environment.
Spot is heartworm positive (with no seen side effects from it so our vet says it is not severe) and has started slow treatment but we had plans of doing the full blown treatment as he seems to be a good candidate for it. Spot is a relatively calm dog. Uses a doggy door right now to go outside. Can be timid going into new environments inside the home. He loves peanut butter and has been learning more and more each day. His current foster says he has learned sit and stay and be gentle when taking treats.
If you are interested in fostering/ adopting Spot please message us with any questions or interests.

Spot is up to date on shots, dewormed, neutered, microchipped, and being treated for heartworms. We are doing slow treatment until he has a place to stay then we will decide to do the full on treatment or not. He is a good candidate for it though. $100 adoption fee.

Update after dog test:
Spot can be around other dogs he just isn't sure how to act.  Basic obedience and training will have him good to go. If Spot does not find a new foster or adopter by Oct 22nd he will have to go into boarding. Once that happens we have plans to do training sessions twice a week with the wonderful Sue!  Please keep sharing Spot so hopefully we can keep him out of boarding!
