Had teeth cleaned, 5 were removed. Small hard lump on head was removed and of no concern. Nails trimmed. Microchipped under the rescue.
Can see some cloudy in the eyes but she sees fine and gets around great. Just an older little gal!
History: There was a dog at the shelter named Miko that we planned to pull under the rescue once his stray hold was up. While he was at the shelter we would visit him and we couldn't help but notice this little senior chihuahua. Honestly, the first time I saw her she was cuddled in a ball next to a puppy and I thought she was a puppy too!!! I was definitely wrong. Anyhow, she would come up to me all happy then prance back to her little blanket bed. It's just something unsettling about a senior dog in a shelter. For one they rarely make it out. You can't help but wonder their life story. Where did they come from? Who loved them for so long? Why are they alone at the shelter with a death sentence coming? Needless to say we spoke with one of our fosters... and it was decided. The senior chihuahua would be saved! Oh and the whole time we thought "she" was a "he" until we looked ourselves... Definitely not a little boy! It was like a gender reveal party...we had a girl!!! Woohoo, haha.
Personality: "Grass?! Oh my goodness grass!!!!!" That was Miss Dolly's reaction when hitting the ground in her fosters back yard. She was so excited to see grass again! Immediately went to potty. She went running around... I call it prancing in her case. When she plays she loves to do the bow down. She puts her little butt in the air and scoots around! Cutest thing ever. She seems kindly not use to people grabbing for her. Makes me wonder if an elderly couple had her and didn't pick her up much. She will let you grab her she's just slightly awkward with it to me. She likes being held though and loved on. Likes to be held and fall asleep too. We are calling this baby potty trained! She will give some yaps if she's hungry, wants lovins, or wants to go potty outside. As soon as you take care of that need, she's back to quite, satisfied, and happier than a kid with cake! She's definitely a precious little girl that is use to love in her life! We can deem her a spunky sweet little girl! Oh, and she is dog and cat friendly.
Will most likely need to stay on softer food for her chompers.
